ABERCROMBIE WORN OUT BY T-SHIRTS
It's amazing that little, old T-shirts garner so much attention at
Abercrombie & Fitch. First, the company took some heat for its
meant-to-be-funny "Wong Brothers Laundry Service" and "Two Wongs Can Make
It White" T-shirts, depicting slanty-eyed Chinese men wearing coolie hats.
An outcry from Asian Americans resulted in the T-shirts being yanked from
A&F's stores.
Now the company has filed suit against retailer Claire's Stores Inc. for
soiling A&F's reputation, reports Bull's Eye spy Lisa Marsh.
Claire's has been selling T-shirts with the words "Aberchronic and Pinch"
shown with a marijuana leaf, and also shirts with "Anti-Crombie" on them.
Though Claire's had no comment on the suit, perhaps they, too were meant to
be funny?
Our advice to Abercrombie? Stick to polo shirts.
