SOUTH CAROLINA GOVERNOR FIGHTS AGAINST THE WRONG ENEMY

I am appalled at the weight our government officials place on some aspects
of life. I often wonder how they pick their fights. Our nation just went
through Sept. 11 when many American citizens were killed due to terrorist
attacks by ungodly, evil men. But even after all that Americans became
unified and stood proud as a nation - that is, until today.

Today, the governor of South Carolina is suing the Department of Energy.
Tell me, where is the unity in that?

Now Gov. Jim Hodges - my governor - has decided to sue the DOE for trying
to dispose of waste where protective measures are in place to handle it.

I believe that if Mr. Hodges were really concerned about people and safety,
he would focus his energies on the war on drugs. I challenge our governor
to go around our neighborhoods and lie down in front of those crack houses
where illegal drugs are sold and where the poor residents of South Carolina
are being controlled by drugs that make mothers sell their children and men
steal and neglect their families.

Even more than that, I challenge our governor to place the state troopers
on alert to stop all vehicles bringing drugs into our state at the border.
Cocaine is so toxic that it can give people a life of addiction if inhaled
one time. This, to me, is national genocide.

When drugs are on our streets, no one is safe. Gov. Hodges should take
issue on this.
