DON'T LEGALIZE POT
To The Editor:
This letter is in response to the Letter to the Editor written by Larry
Seguin on May 5, 2002.
Mr. Seguin, I've read many letters to the editor over the years on
legalizing drugs (pot) whatever. I have always found these letters painful
and sometimes sickening, I always read them because I am a loyal American
who feels I should stay abreast of what's happening in my community.
To the best of my knowledge the government has never said which druggies
are financing the killing of Americans. Until they do I will believe the
drugs being purchased and used in this community are part of the
problem. That makes the druggies in this community part of the problem and
not part of the solution.
With our country at war, we need people with clear minds, not people that
can be controlled, or manipulated, because of their habit.
I've read a lot of letters on legalizing drugs over the years; but no one
ever says if they are dirty or not. That bit of information would answer a
lot of questions on a lot of people's minds.
I would like to again congratulate all the fine officers who were in on the
latest drug bust on Rt. 37. It's always good to read about a drug bust in
the newspaper, it makes my day.
