CONFUSION OF THE MESSAGE OF ZERO TOLERANCE

In response to John Vanderputten's letter dated March 27 I feel
there should be zero tolerance against drunk drivers and drug
dealers in the form of stiffer consequences for people choosing to
act this way.

The man who killed Andrew and injured three of his friends had
already been convicted three times before that accident.

So don't tell me about structure being in place as it's not working.
I resent the fact that John Vanerderputten twisted my words by
saying that I seemed to imply that Andrew's death was a result of
someone enjoying some wine during their dinner. How despicable!

Furthermore, I am sure that most decent parents are trying to
educate their children concerning drugs. Perhaps the police should
go into the schools more often with pictures of people on dangerous
drugs and what they look like when they get arrested
or hospitialized or worse.
