TEENAGERS IGNORING ANTI-DRUG COMMERCIALS

The federal government's commonsense anti-drug ads are meant to speak to
youth in their own language, with superstars offering alternatives such as
skateboarding, sports and the electric guitar.

But President Bush's top drug-policy adviser, John P. Walters, said the
television spots are largely being ignored by teenagers and a newly
released survey found no evidence the multimillion-dollar campaign is
discouraging drug use.
