Editor, The News:
It took the government 15 months and a $5.8 million contract of taxpayers'
money to produce and harvest 1800 kilograms of marijuana in an underground
mine in Flin Flon, Man.
A crop of marijuana from seed only takes four or five months. It took them
15 months to produce their first 250 kilograms. Harvested and stored for
one month, they announce on Wednesday that it will be disposed of.
Yet on the other hand, they are approving new medical marijuana licenses,
but existing medical marijuana users still have no supply.
You must be approved by your doctor, and a specialist, and then it is sent
to a guy in a suit in Ottawa for final approval. With the way things are
going it doesn't look like they will have a supply any time soon, and non
pot supporters should enjoy hearing what the government is doing with their
money.
