DECISION PLEDGED IN DRUG-HOUSE SUIT

Wayne County Circuit Co-Chief Judge Timothy Kenny said Friday that he will
decide June 26 whether the state should demolish or take control of a known
drug house it owns on Detroit's west side.

The Michigan Attorney General's Office argued in court Friday that it is
making efforts to sell the property at 11654 Mettetal to a community group
in Detroit that wants to renovate it.

The office also cited sovereign and governmental immunity from being sued by
Wayne County Prosecutor Mike Duggan, and asked Kenny to dismiss the lawsuit.

The home, just south of I-96, has been raided five times since May 2000,
according to Duggan's office. Police have seized marijuana, ecstasy, cocaine
and cash.
