TIME TO CRACK DOWN

Finally!

Thank God for a program to stop the abuse of children born to drug addicts.

The CRACK program should have been started by the health department with
the first crack babies, but government organizations are too cowardly to do
what is needed for the welfare of the helpless.

An addict makes a choice, at least the first time. A fetus or baby has no
choice, no protection, and no one to speak as an advocate.

The time has come for this country to put its money where its mouth is;
everyone's freedom ends where harm to another begins. Therefore the freedom
to use or not use drugs is not an unlimited freedom, it has serious
consequences to others, whom we have the duty to protect.

It is horrifying to know that a single drug addict may have more than 10
babies, all dependent on government support! Where is our common sense?

Do only those of us who have heard the constant pain in the continuous
screaming of crack babies have compassion for the child? Any compassion I
have for the mother is far outweighed by the needs of the child.

I, for one, would prefer my government dollars go to prevent this
suffering. Every addict should be required to have long-term birth control
after bearing the first child.

The "rights" of the addict end when the "rights" of her child begin with
conception.
