MICHIGAN: STATE SUED OVER DRUG DENS
The Wayne County prosecutor, Michael Duggan, has sued the state, saying it
is not doing enough to stop drug dealing at houses it owns in Detroit. The
state, which owns at least 5,000 houses in Detroit that were seized after
the owners failed to pay taxes, said it was immune from such suits. The
suit by Mr. Duggan, whose county includes Detroit, cites 20 properties
where drugs continue to be sold after state seizure. He asks that the state
sell the houses or knock them down.
