BE MORE RESPONSIBLE

To the editor:

I read with interest the article in Thursday's (May 30 paper) about police
finding remnants of a methcathinone lab which makes the drug they call
"cat." A state policeman stated that "cat" is nasty and we've got to put a
stop to it. I agree with him. This is a very dangerous drug which can cause
great harm, or even death, to our young people. Then why did the paper
proceed to publish the ingredients which make up this drug and where they
could be purchased? You will probably say that this information could be
found on the Internet or that kids probably already know how "cat" is made.
That may be true, but it still doesn't excuse the paper for making this
information available to every kid who might decide to try it. For those
who might not have the information, it's an open invitation. Publish the
dangers of "cat," but please be more responsible about adding to the problem.
