U.S. NEEDS TO RETHINK ITS PRIORITIES

What is wrong with our government?

I read on the front page of The Daily Herald that the Department of the
Interior had purchased water from drought-stricken Deer Creek and
Jordanelle reservoirs to increase the flow of the Provo River so the June
sucker will have good spawning conditions on the lower Provo River.

That same evening, I heard on TV that the border patrol agents on the
U.S./Mexican border sit on their duffs because the agency does not have
enough money to buy enough vehicles so these agents can contain the drug
traffic and influx of illegal immigrants.

Is it more important to have good spawning ground for the June sucker so
the Walleye pike and White bass can feed on the spawn, or should we be
concerned about the flow of drugs and illegal immigrants into our country?

Our city officials request that we conserve water during this drought
period. How can anyone expect "Joe Blow" to conserve water when we give the
June sucker priority to our water and money, and the drugs and illegal
immigrants flow freely across our border?

God Bless America.
