MAN ELECTROCUTED TENDING GROW OP
A 33-year-old man was found dead in a crawl space with a marijuana
grow-operation Wednesday night. RCMP suspect the man, whose wife is eight
months pregnant, died from electrocution. An autopsy is to be performed to
determine the cause of death.
Police responded to a 911 call in the 11900-block of Best Street in Maple
Ridge at about 9:45 p.m. Wednesday. Attempts by B.C. Hydro to disconnect
power to the home continued on Thursday so that police could remove 100
marijuana plants from inside. "The dangers of the drug trade are real," Cpl
Rhonda Stoner said.
Police ask anyone with information about illegal drugs to call 604-463-6251
or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-YIPS.
