DO WE HAVE TO DIE TO ACHIEVE ANY REAL PEACE?

Peace. I guess you really do have to die to find it. Obviously, war is our
nature. Not just in Israel or Palestine (or Belfast, the Philippines,
India, Pakistan, Iraq or Iran), but also right here in the United States.

The so-called war on drugs (which was lost 30 years ago when it began) has
our prisons overflowing with no end in sight. And the overburdened
taxpayers foot the bill.

Republicans and Democrats are today's gladiators. They do battle with each
other until their death for bureaucratic powers.

The believers fight with the non-believers and have infighting in their own
churches. Even the Native Americans are still battling the cowboys
(Washington, D.C.) over their land and mining rights.

The blacks want reparations for slavery (how about reparations to the South
for all we lost) and the Civil War is still being fought. The Yankees tell
us to "get over it" and we tell blacks the same thing about slavery.

Nobody's right if everybody's wrong. Pray for peace, but prepare for war.
