2 GIRLS IN POT DEAL AT SCHOOL
Two 13-year-old Mississauga girls have been suspended from school for
five days after one was caught selling marijuana to the other while
classmates looked on.
The suspensions have angered teachers of Hillside Middle School who
want the teens disciplined for a longer period of time and banned from
a graduation, and party and dance next Wednesday.
The teachers have banded together and threatened not to attend
graduation activities at the Winston Churchill Blvd. -- Erin Mills
Pkwy. school.
"Kids make mistakes," Chuck Waterman, superintendent of the Peel
District School Board, said yesterday. "We believe the penalty was
appropriate."
Waterman said the incident was reported to the school principal last
Tuesday. Peel police were called but no charges were laid because of a
lack of evidence.
