SON OF PIGEON FORGE POLICE CHIEF FACING ASSAULT, DRUG CHARGES

PIGEON FORGE, Tenn.- The adult son of the Pigeon Forge police chief is out
on $100,000 bond after he tried to grab an undercover drug agent's gun,
police said.

Bradley Baldwin, 30, was and charged Friday with two counts of aggravated
assault and possession of cocaine for resale. He is the son of Pigeon Forge
Police Chief Jack Baldwin.

The incident began earlier in the day when Baldwin allegedly held a gun to
the head of neighbor Tommy Seth Cole, who had reported to a drug agent that
he found a pistol, digital scales and a white powder in his car after his
daughter and Baldwin had used it.

The undercover agent, who wasn't identified by police, saw Baldwin approach
Cole and called Pigeon Forge police.

"I identified myself as a police officer and ordered his hands up," the
agent's warrant said. "Baldwin began yelling how he was going to kill me.
He exited his vehicle and tried to get my gun. I had to physically fight
him off."

The white substance found in Cole's vehicle tested positive for cocaine,
the warrant said.

Baldwin is scheduled to appear in Sevier County General Sessions Court on
July 19.
