METH LAB FOUND AFTER HOMEOWNER COMPLAIN

A Garland County man who apparently got fed up with two of his own family
members who were allegedly operating a methamphetamines lab in the man's
house alerted authorities early Monday.

Garland County sheriff's deputy Angela Graybeal responded to a complaint
around 8 a.m. at the man's residence at 416 Rockdale Road and was told by
the man there was an active lab inside.

The resident, who has health problems and is on medication, was apparently
being taken advantage of by his relatives who were staying at the residence
and gave Graybeal consent to search, agent Todd Sanders with the 18th
Judicial District East Drug Task Force, said Tuesday.

There were five other people at the residence, including the two family
members, when Graybeal searched and found numerous chemicals and components
for an apparent lab.

DTF agents were called to the scene and confirmed the presence of all the
materials needed to manufacture about $1,400 worth of meth, Sanders said,
although no finished product was found.

Jason Alford, 19, and another 17-year-old female family member, were
arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to
manufacture meth.

Bond was set at $5,000 for both suspects. The 17-year-old will be arraigned
in Garland County Juvenile Court. Both could face up to 20 years in prison
if convicted on the charge.

Of the three other people at the residence, one was questioned and released
without being charged.

Yolanda Williamson, 19, who lists an address of 400 Mississippi St., was
charged with possession of instruments of crime because of contraband found
on her person and criminal trespass.

Her boyfriend, Daleon Seals, 21, was also cited for criminal trespass and
released.

The lab was dismantled and later disposed of after the necessary evidence
was removed and processed, Sanders said.

The DTF is composed of officers with the sheriff's department, Hot Springs
Police Department and Arkansas State Police.
