MISPLACED APPROVAL
Your editorial states: "China has an innovative way of dealing with its
drug problem. If you get caught dealing drugs, you may well be executed."
Aside from the fact that what the Calgary Herald considers "innovative"
most of the civilized world considers barbaric, singing the praises of
atrocities commemorating the UN's anti-drug day -- China offed 64 dealers
- -- is nothing short of contemptible.
Should the penalty actually fit the evil of the crime? Let those without
sin cast the first stone.
