BLAME PROHIBITION
Editor:
Re: Mental illness another reason to ban marijuana, Feedback, the
Observer, April 8.
I wonder, if marijuana really is as dangerous as they say, isn't that
all the more reason to take it out of the hands of teens and gangsters
and put it into the regulated hands of responsible tax paying adults?
How is criminalizing it making it safer? By that logic, alcohol
(proven to be far more dangerous than marijuana) should be handed back
over to gangsters.
Meanwhile, cannabis has dozens of medical applications, so banning it
for everyone is much like throwing the baby out with the bath water.
The problem is prohibition. Regulate pot and we implement quality
controls, labelling, and reap tax revenue.
