ALCOHOL IS WORSE THAN MARIJUANA

I read his letter, and find little mention of alcohol abuse. I am curious
as to where his knowledge comes from regarding marijuana.

My personal feeling is that alcohol should be outlawed. I have seen more
destruction of lives and family from alcohol abuse than from smoking marijuana.

I have never seen a person high on pot go berserk and beat on his wife and
children. I have seen a drunk do this.

I have never seen a person high on pot throw his life away because he can't
function without it. I have seen an alcoholic do this.

How many people have been involved in an automobile accident involving
someone high on pot?

I have not heard of any.

I am not discounting that it is possible, but I have heard over and over
again about how alcohol kills behind the wheel.

Lane speaks of pot being a gateway drug. I beg to differ. If anything is
the gateway drug, it is alcohol. Most kids can get their hands on booze
before they can get their hands on a joint. In some homes, alcohol is a
staple -- just like bread and milk.

And then, there are the prescription drugs that grab an innocent person
before they know what has hit them. How many people wind up in detox to
beat their Demerol addiction? It is really a shame.

Our bodies are not built for any foreign substance. That is why we get high
when we do them.

You can't just pick and choose the bad guys here. All drugs are bad --
legal or illegal.

Ignorance breeds contempt.
