FOCUS ON REHAB
According to Robert Novak [column, June 24], U.S. diplomats are urging
congressional Republicans to steer clear of alienating Colombia's
controversial president-elect Alvaro Uribe.
Given the United States' failed war on drugs in Colombia and elsewhere, the
U.S. diplomats should think more about ending the alienation of more than 1
million U.S. citizens who are still waiting for one of the coveted spots in
a drug-rehabilitation clinic.
