PROHIBITION IS WRONG

Regarding the July 8 article, Wiring For Homegrown Operation Linked To
Fire, the government appears to have little regard for the correlation
between policies which prohibit cannabis and the increase in frequency of
faulty marijuana grow operations and the threat that those grow operations
pose. The threat is not only to residents but also to the general public,
including unwary firefighters, hydro workers and police.

Regulating, licensing and/or taxing marijuana like alcohol would result in
a revenue windfall and eliminate any reason for black market marijuana
growers to continue turning residential properties into lucrative
agricultural enterprises.
