MARIJUANA SERIES WAS WELL-BALANCED
I wish to commend The Reporter for addressing the controversial question of
legalization of marijuana.
The series was well-balanced in presenting diverse views.
I was disappointed, however, that the series did not address two of the
most compelling reasons for legalization: 1) the very high costs of
incarcerating nonviolent drug offenders; and 2) the social justice issues
raised in the differential prosecution and incarceration of users based on
income and race.
