SOME ADDICTS GET HIGH ON COWS

It doesn't seem dairymen can catch a break these days. Soon they could be
raided by the Drug Enforcement Agency.

Addicts in Malaysia have started sniffing fresh cow dung to get high a
response to the nation's strict anti-drug laws.

"The cow dung emits gases like sulfur, and addicts sniff on these gases to
get high," Trade Minister Rafidah Aziz said in an Associated Press report.

Malaysia's harsh anti-drug laws call for death by hanging for drug
traffickers. Hard-core addicts who repeatedly fail rehabilitation are
punished with five to 13 years in prison and six lashes from a rattan cane.

Malaysia's laws do not cover cow dung sniffing or trafficking in cow chips,
but they soon may as concern grows over addicts falling victim to the lure
of the dung.

Let's just hope this doesn't catch on in the U.S. It won't be pretty
watching local addicts line up along Bear Mountain Boulevard to catch their
fresh morning fix.
