CRIME HAS UPPER HAND
The drug raid on Cheek Road Apartments was ruled unconstitutional by Judge
Orlando Hudson. The Police Department and its attorney said the raid was
not unconstitutional and that officers conducted themselves in an
upstanding manner.
So who is wrong - the police or Judge Hudson? The television news videotape
of the raid should be made available to the public. As a result of Hudson's
ruling, all charges against those arrested in the drug raid will be
dismissed, including those who had already pleaded guilty. What is
unconstitutional about police arresting criminals with illegal drugs?
It is no wonder that Durham is called the city of crime. The criminals have
the upper hand, with help from Judge Hudson.
