HERBAL ALTERNATIVE
In response to the letter by John Diduch ("Legalization argument far from
convincing," July 24): It's time to set the record straight on cannabis use.
Cannabis is a natural, medicinal herb belonging to the mulberry family. It
has been used for millennia by myriad cultures to administer to their
health. Today, millions of people have become disenchanted with toxic and
ineffective pharmaceutical drugs and are turning to natural, non-toxic
herbal alternatives. Of these, cannabis has proven to be one of the safest
and most effective for a number of conditions, including stress, which is
commonly associated with disease.
The criminalization and vilification of people for being responsible only
benefits the multi-level layers of corruption which feed off prohibition.
When citizens like Mr. Diduch seek to usurp the inalienable rights of
others based on their own fears and prejudices, we slide ever further into
the nightmare of tyranny and chaos.
