DRUG ADDICTS' KILLINGS PUZZLE BACOLOD LAWMEN
BACOLOD CITY -- Who's killing the drug pushers here?
Even provincial police director Sr. Supt. Geary Barias is puzzled as to the
identity of the killer of drug pushers in this city.
Barias, however, was quick to surmise that the slaying of live-in couple
Felix Bahibag and Mari Fe Togle last month could be related to the reported
slaying of Evaristo "Dodoy" Prado, said to be a drug pusher.
Bahibag's body was found at Bgy. Cansilayan, Murcia while Togle's was at
Bgy. La Granja. Both bore three gunshot wounds in their heads.
Prado's killing was similar to the couple as he shot at close range in the
head. The pistol used was also similar.
Prado had reportedly left the drug trade when he was killed. He was
allegedly used by the police as a drug informant and had, in fact, helped in
the arrests of several Muslim drug pushers.
Barias said he's waiting for the results of the ballistic tests conducted on
the guns used to kill the victims.
City police drug enforcement unit head, Sr. Insp. Thomas Martir confirmed
that Togle was on the list of the PNP order of battle against illegal drug
pushers in the city.
