RODY'S 7 DRUG SUSPECTS FROM BRGY 32-D, NOT 29

THE seven suspected drug pushers whose names were read by Davao City Mayor
Rodrigo Duterte on his television program "Gikan sa Masa, Para sa Masa" last
Sunday were from Barangay 32-D, this city not Barangay 29 as earlier
reported.

This was the clarification made by Barangay 29 Captain Eddie Fuentes Monday
afternoon prior to the village's Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council meeting.

Duterte warned the seven suspects to stop their illegal activities, leave
the city in a week's time or be prepared to die in the hands of their
neighbors.

The names, the mayor said, were identified in a letter sent by a concerned
citizen residing on Aurora Street, this city revealing the suspects behind
the proliferation of illegal drugs in the said area.

The mayor said he would give the suspects only one week to reform or get out
of Davao City or face the "law".

The mayor was however quick to deny that the dreaded Davao Death Squad will
once again strike.

"Dili tinuod ang DDS, ang mutigbas ninyo silingan ra pud ninyo (DDS does not
exist. The ones who will hack you dead will just be your neighbors)," he
said.

Duterte had been associated with the vigilante group but had been denying it
for most of the times.

The mayor, in September last year, read more than 500 suspected drug pusher
on his television program. A number of those in the list were later gunned
down by men usually riding a motorcycle.
