OUTSIDER GLIB ABOUT DRUG PROBLEMS

To the editor:

Re: the Aug. 7 letter to the editor regarding the parking lot in Strathcona
that is plagued with hookers and drug addicts (Parking lot coverage is
propaganda"). A quick Internet search of letter writer Alan Randell shows
that he is a writer for the media awareness project www.mapinc.org, which
promotes drug policy reform, and that he lives in Victoria.

If Randell actually lived in the neighborhood, perhaps he wouldn't feel so
glib regarding the problems plaguing the local residents.
