THE STRAIGHT DOPE

To endorse the free use of marijuana no matter how small in any city is
ludicrous. Anyone that recommends it must be using it himself or herself.

As a retired musician/entertainer, I've never used any type of drugs myself,
but many I worked with have. They are in a world of their own. The body is
in a slow mode situation. For those in the workforce with jobs where you may
depend on your partner for help if an emergency arises, reaction time could
be fatal to your life.

I can visualize smoking a joint and then driving around town with a vehicle
or going to work in this mode. I don't know how long it takes for a person's
system to return to normal, as each must be different.

How do we challenge someone who's high and then going about his or her
normal routine in our workforce? Will this mean no more testing for drugs?
Consider all this at voting time from one who has seen marijuana and other
drugs at work.

In the entertainment industry I've lost many, many friends because of drugs,
but I'm still here to see it.
