DRUGS AND U.S. ALLIES
In the Aug. 18 Parade, an article about terrorists' bank accounts stated
that the United States has the means to destroy most of the poppy fields
that produce heroin. The State Department vetoed that initiative because it
didn't want to hurt the economies of our allies in the region -- Pakistan
and Afghanistan.
What about the so-called war on drugs? I find this a disturbing
contradiction to fighting terrorism. Mafia wins again.
