TIME FOR CHANGE

George Wilhelm claims to be tough on drugs. What does he base this on? Is
it the two major drug raids coordinated by agencies other than the
sheriff's department? I fail to see how this elevates him to
record-breaking status.

Community patrol and courthouse security have dwindled in recent years.
Sheriff Wilhelm blames this on limited departmental funding, yet he has had
little difficulty purchasing boats, Chevy Tahoes, Durangos, Ford Explorers
and Mustangs for himself and a few chosen employees to enjoy. If the
sheriff was as tough on drugs as he is on our tax dollars, Rowan County
would be narcotics free.

On Sept. 10th, I'll support the Republican Party. But I refuse to vote for
George. I won't make that mistake again.
