THE BOTTOM LINE

It was announced here the other day that one in four adult Americans are
somehow in the criminal justice system ["6.6 million glut justice system,"
news story, Aug. 26]. Yes and we are the "land of the free." This is more
than any other industrial nation, and more than in Russia.

Is there really that much crime, or are there those who are making a very
good living off of the "justice" system? How many are in jails because they
have an addiction? Is this really a "crime"?

In Romans 4:15, it says, "Where there is no law, there is no
transgression." It also stands to reason that where there are many laws,
there would be many transgressions. Now if there are many transgressions,
there must be those who administer these transgressions, right? That means
litigation, and jailers, and judges, and "revenue" officers--in other
words, lots of people making a living off of others' miseries, and off of
others' money, i.e., the taxpayers.

I always say if you want to know the answer for anything going on in
government, follow the money. I have, and it doesn't smell good.
