HYPOCRITICAL GOVERNMENT

WHILE TOBACCO firms face the wrath of the government and their
multi-million-dollar anti-smoking campaigns, this same government is
getting ready to give the green light to smoking another harmful substance
- - pot. The hypocritical action of the government is astonishing, though not
surprising. As they whittle away health benefits and raise taxes, will
permitting the consumption of marijuana benefit the people of Canada in any
way? Allowing and permitting marijuana smoke to funnel through our towns
and villages while killing our youth is no success story. We are a proud
country because of our heritage and our morality, not our flimsy laws made
by political weaklings like Martin Cauchon.
