POT LAWS FUTILE

The Senate, in my opinion, is finally on the right track in recommending
the legalization of marijuana. Government has no place dictating to us what
we can, and cannot, put into our bodies. To do so is a form of censorship.

If we are stupid enough to put noxious substances into our bodies (as we
already do with cigarettes and liquor, which are legal), isn't that our right?

I believe that government has a responsibility to educate about the dangers
of various substances and to lay down the parameters for their sale.

But then it should step back and allow us to make our own decisions -- and
our own mistakes.

We can no longer afford to police drug and marijuana use. It's costing us
billions of dollars which could be better spent on the provision of better
health and education services.
