CARDIN LESSER EVIL?
The City Paper, in endorsing Ben Cardin for Congress, writes, "We can think
of no reason for his constituents not to send him back to Washington for
another term."
Has none of the editors of the City Paper ever smoked pot? If any of you
has, then I can think of a reason not to send Ben Cardin back to
Washington--he would lock you up. How can you endorse someone who would
lock you up for what should be none of the government's business?
Is your reply that no members of Congress are for legalization, and
Cardin's opponent would probably be worse than he is? I would expect that
reply from a mainstream paper, but I thought that the City Paper was an
alternative paper. No decent person would lock up another person for his
choice of drugs, and no one has to vote for an indecent person, even if he
is the lesser evil.
