JAIL FOR PUNISHMENT
Dear Editor:
If Michael Patriquen thinks it is cruel and unusual punishment not to be
allowed to smoke his pot in jail, he should not have committed a crime.
Jail is supposed to teach criminals not to go back there. It is not a
resort or hotel.
If pot were allowed for his so-called pain, what would be next? Maybe they
will allow hookers to visit the inmates to relieve pressure and anxiety.
If you do the crime, then be prepared to be punished. I don't believe in
rewarding offenders for their crimes. I already think the justice system is
far too lenient and needs to be revised. It's time jail was used for its
intended purpose.
