POT IS HARMFUL

Here we are on the one hand trying to stop people from smoking and on the
other hand we are trying to get them to smoke something else.

Even if there is no nicotine in pot, there must be some of the bad tar and
other ingredients that are harmful to the lungs. Only the people who smoke
up the pot want it legalized yet they may get lung cancer just as easy as a
normal smoker may. How does that help our health situation and reduce
medical costs?

Some people try to compare pot to alcohol. Alcohol, though abused by some
people, has been proven to be a help to the heart. Pot may dull the effects
of pain in some cases, but other than that it is used just as a high for
pleasure, with no medical benefit to the user other than maybe to develop
infected lungs over a period of time.

I am sure that the regional health officer will find that out, down the
road. Pot may be causing as many lung problems as the cigarettes, and it
may very well lead to harder drugs. There is still the immaturity of the
young mind being convinced that they should try something a bit stronger.

(Possibly, but health problems alone may not strike many people as a good
enough reason to throw people in jail)
