PUSH DRUG-FREE SOCIETY
Dear Editor:
Can you believe we're paying wages to a senator who came up with this
hare-brained idea of legalizing pot for anyone 16 years of age and older?
What kind of lessons are we teaching our children? We have police (and
rightly so) in our schools working to discourage children from taking
drugs; and in the next breath, we would be telling them it's OK.
Just ask police how many crimes are drug-related and you'll be surprised. A
lot of times, it all started from that first joint and gradually progressed
to harder drugs.
We should be trying to promote a drug-free society, not a drug-filled society.
