SENSIBLE OPTION
It's never a surprise to see another politician reveal his hypocrisy on the
question of drug legalization, but it's always entertaining to watch them
squirm. Now comes Rod Blagojevich, who says he smoked pot in college. Does
he think he should have a criminal record for this? Presumably not. But he
thinks it's OK to arrest and jail people today for doing what he did 25
years ago.
Contrast this with Libertarian candidate for governor Cal Skinner. Skinner
and the Libertarians are opposed to arresting people for this nonviolent,
noncriminal activity.
If people like Blagojevich and Jim Ryan are too stubborn to admit they're
wrong about the failed, insane war on drugs, let's give the Libertarians a
chance to try a new approach.
