POT VS ALCOHOL

RE "Letters to the Editor," by Bob O'Connor (Sept. 16): O'Connor states,
"Alcohol, though abused by some people, has been proven to be a help to the
heart." This is the logic that you use to say that "Some people try to
compare pot to alcohol."

When is the last time you saw a detox center or a drug rehab program for
potheads?

When is the last time you saw a traffic, boating, or snowmobile death, a
spousal beating, a child abuse, a rape, a shooting, a stabbing, a bar-room
or street brawl attributed to pot as opposed to heavy drinking?

When is the last time you saw a person die of cirrhosis of the liver,
kidney failure, or heart attack from smoking pot? It is not your heart I
worry about -- it is your mind ...
