OPINION IN ERROR
Dear Editor:
I am writing regarding Peter Duffy's column "Don't cry for toker who's
doing time" (The Sunday Herald, Sept. 15).
Michael Patriquen's (medical) condition has everything to do with the
situation. The fact that he received six years in jail on two drug
charges is incidental.
Furthermore, it's about cruel and unusal treatment/punishment.
Would Mr. Duffy also deny a diabetic (in jail) insulin, even if that
diabetic (wrongly convicted or not) was imprisoned for allegedly
robbing a drugstore?
After reading The Sunday Herald, it is clear to see that Mr. Duffy has
an opinion on numerous things. As such, it is certainly within the
realm of probability that his opinion, from time to time, will be in
error.
The instance of Mr. Patriquen is a case in point.
