BAN AIDS TERRORISTS
Drug czar John Philip Walters was recently pushing a new anti-drug ad
campaign that will waste another $150 million of our federal tax dollars.
The insidious message in these commercials is the disingenuous assertion
that illegal drugs finance terrorism. It is prohibition that finances
terrorism.
Furthermore, it appears these commercials are directed primarily at
marijuana, which is not the major drug from which terrorist profits are
derived. Even if it were, legalization would deprive these organizations of
every dime of such profit while allowing the sick access to an effective
palliative medicine.
If we do not legalize drugs, we will be faced with assaults upon the United
States from terrorist organizations who derive more than 50 percent of their
gross revenue from the production, sale and distribution of illicit drugs.
By legalizing, at least some drugs (for example, marijuana), we have an
opportunity to financially cripple world terrorism.
