POLICE ASK FOR OK TO LAND HELICOPTER AT SCHOOL
Police are asking for planning commission approval to land a Blackhawk
helicopter in late October on the campus of St. Joseph School for a one-day
event promoting drug awareness. The helicopter comes courtesy of the
National Guard at Moffett Field.
The helicopter would land on school grounds at 150 Valparaiso Ave. A
conditional use permit is needed for the one-time event, said commission
Chairman Philip Lively.
Already, a couple of residents have submitted letters objecting to the
landing in their neighborhood, he said.
The commission meets tonight to consider the helicopter permit.
