WRITER WANTS THE RCMP TO BACK UP METH AND POT CLAIMS

Dear Sir:

Regarding the story, "Meth message catching on," The Terrace Standard,
April 4, 2007

I am writing with regard to a statement made by RCMP Constable
Rochelle Patenaude that the police "are finding pot is being laced
with a Meth spray."

I believe this is a false statement designed to frighten people from
using marijuana.

In the case of Const. Patenaude's statement, there is a sure-fire way
to determine whether or not the statement is true or false.

As I am sure you are aware, not too long ago, RCMP in the northwest
claimed to have seized a large amount of marijuana in several busts in
northwest communities.

So, out of this large quantity of marijuana seized by the police, what
percentage was laced with crystal meth?

If the statement is true, the RCMP should be only too happy to release
a summary of the lab results giving scientific proof that marijuana
is, indeed, being laced with crystal meth in the northwest.

On the other hand, if the statement is false, you can expect the RCMP
to refuse to release the lab results.

Will you please make a request to the RCMP, under the appropriate
freedom of information legislation, for the release of the lab results?

The public deserves to know the truth. It is imperative that a summary
of the lab results be published in the Terrace Standard.

Thank-you in advance for your due diligence into this
matter.
