AC-T AGAINST MUMPOWER'S ANTI-DRUG CRUSADE?

In the last several weeks, I have seen a very liberal slant toward
Carl Mumpower and the fight he has undertaken to rid the streets and
communities of the drug problem that has been swept under the rug by
so many city officials. The Citizen-Times found it amusing to place a
picture of concert goers who had face masks of Carl Mumpower on the
front page. Apparently the paper does not find the drug use and the
effect on family and community, or the fight against drug production,
trafficking and the sale of drugs to be worthy of front-page news.

Police Chief Hogan has also shown that he is prepared to take on this
fight because he has reported that it will cost the department an
additional $2.4 million to fight this problem. One wonders why was
this amount not figured into the original budget submitted?

The oversight of $2.4 million and the widespread use of drugs would
make one wonder if the chief and other city officials are in touch
with the needs in Asheville.
