DARE GRADS SHARE LESSONS LEARNED

Drug, Abuse, Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) is a course that Agassiz
Christian School has taken for the last 10 weeks.

Grades 5-7 have very much enjoyed having Constable Parr. For some of
us, this has been our second year. Our class has learned to handle
peer pressure. Knowing that our classmates have been through the same
program as us makes us feel more secure around town.

D.A.R.E. has taught us many interesting things about alcohol. We have
gained many skills on how to avoid alcohol and the temptations that
come with it. It's OK when you're 19 and up, but you have to drink
responsibly. We are still growing; therefore alcohol has more severe
effects on us.

Marijuana contains over 400 chemicals including some of the same
cancer causing substances found in tobacco. The scary thing about
marijuana is you can never be sure what's in it and if you don't know
what you're taking it can have harmful effects on your body.

D.A.R.E. has been a very helpful program because it taught us so much
about making wise decisions for our body and mind. Thank you Mr.
Becke, Constable Parr, and our sponsors, the Lions Club.
