PRISONS AND SCHOOLS COMPETE FOR MONEY

Thanks for publishing Lonnie Rochelle's outstanding Sept. 30 letter,
"Education vs. incarceration."

Minnesota spends the most of any state on education and less than any other
state on prisons.

Louisiana spends the most on prisons and the least on education.

Prisons and schools compete for the same limited tax dollar. Just like a
drug addict, you have a choice.

Which is the best investment? Prisons or schools?
