IT'S A MYTH THAT POT ISN'T DANGEROUS
GREEN BAY - Brian C. Keys wrote a Forum letter making fun of comments by
John Walters about the risks and dangers of smoking marijuana. Walters
correctly outlined the path most hardened criminals took when young; many
started by smoking dope. The myth that it is somehow "harmless" is
dangerous.
Even more dangerous is a paranoia-laden writer getting space to air
ridiculous statements without a single factual statistic to back up his
claims. When Keys uses phrases like "prison-happy judges" or uses unrelated
examples such as terrorism and illegal aliens, it totally discredits any
logical point he hopes to make.
The writer claimed he laughed at Walter's comments. I don't know Walters,
but I admire his opinion. I feel sorry for people who feel the need to use
illegal drugs, because it must be a hard life when your mind is filled with
conspiracy theories.
Think about it. Many people know someone who claims a right to use
"harmless" illegal drugs like marijuana. How are they doing in life compared
to people who don't use?
