READERS CONTINUE MARIJUANA DEBATE

I wonder why you are downplaying the increasing opposition to Question 9,
the marijuana legalization measure. On Oct. 3, you buried inside the 'Local
& Region' section a 'staff reports' (which means you didn't send anyone to
cover it) story on a news conference by Sparks Police Chief John Dotson to
explain why the Nevada Sheriffs and Police Chiefs Association is opposed to
Question 9.

And then, on Sunday, you managed to run a skimpy, five-paragraph Associated
Press (which means you didn't send anyone to cover it) story on the State
Board of Health is unanimous decision to oppose the marijuana legalization
measure. But earlier, you devoted reams of copy to the annual Burning Man
drug festival in the Black Rock Desert north of Gerlach.

My conclusion is that RGJ editors and reporters are soft on drugs. Am I
wrong?
