A SOUND DECISION

Rob Hudson should be commended for not attending the Drug Policy Forum meeting.

In a letter Sept. 26 to Mr. du Bois, Mr. Hudson declined to attend the DPF
meeting for several reasons.

Mr. Hudson is a member of the law enforcement community, not the
legislative branch of government. Based on the DPF's position and from
articles members have written and literature they have handed out, they
need to have legislative policy makers as speakers, not law enforcement.

Mr. Hudson is bound by oath to enforce the law. It is a crime to possess,
use and manufacture illegal drugs and it is his duty to prosecute those who
break the law.

Mr. Hudson declined to attend the meeting because the DPF invited his
opponent, Steve Holcombe, and he didn't want to engage in a "politicized"
discussion.

Mr. du Bois and others associated with DPF have already cast their
allegiance to Mr. Holcombe, which is evidenced by their financial
contributions to his campaign.
